Our last kitten has gone to her new home. Grace Casey, now known as Billie, has gone to live with Andrew and her new sister cat, Lucy. She is adorable and we know Andrew will give her a wonderful home.

The Birdwatcher's Club just finished it's 8th month. All the quilts are taking on the personalities of their makes. It is such fun to watch how
different and yet how beautiful all these quilts are going to be. My friend
Kay is doing her quilt on Diawabo
fabrics. I will be posting different quilts each
week. I love them all.

We have decided to keep the kitten with a stripe on her nose. We have named her Quin, Gully, Stripe, Popcorn, Baby and Little toots. We have not settled on her name yet. She comes to them all and welcomes us with loud and continuous purring. She loves our original 3 furry friends and our dog Spirit. She also loves computer cursors and will spend hours chasing it on the screen. This is not a good thing.

I will be posting more pictures soon.
Have a Happy Labor Day!

Today is my daughter's birthday. Happy Birthday Heidi! We celebrated last night with our family and friends. Our new cat, Trouvee, joined in the festivities. It is hard to believe just a few months ago she was a scared pregnant cat living on her own outside. She is not frightened by noise or people and is quickly adjusting to her new life style.

I was planning on posting a picture of Grace Casey with Andrew, her new owner, but my computer decided to not work today. As soon as it is functioning again I will post their picture. My remaining kitten, Quin, cried for a little while last night after Grace Casey left but today is happy and full of purrs and joy. Trouvee still does not like her but I am always hopeful this might work out. I will try.

The storm last night was pretty rough and scary but this morning the garden is so rejuvenated I am glad we had the storm.

I am lining up the material I am planning on putting on my blog. There will be some quilting ideas as well as other stuff. Also my daughter, Wendy Carlson, is chairman of the 2009 Milwaukee Susan G. Komen, Race for the Cure so you will be hearing a lot about that in the next few weeks.

Stay tuned I am just warming up.

My first blog post. Today I decided to become a blogger. I have so many ideas to share and I find writing them out helps clarify them for me too. I hope in the process I can inspire you to try new things also. It makes life so interesting.

This spring I rescued a pregnant cat who had been living in and around our garage all winter. With a friends help (Barbara Gross) I was able to live trap this cat and bring her into our home where she had 7 kittens on April 26, 2009. I have now placed 6 of the kittens, had the mother spayed and feel very good about what has happened in the last 3 months. It definitely cut into my quilting time but how very worthwhile it has been. Of course you will be seeing pictures of these darling kittens as they all hold a very special place in my heart. Trouvee, their mom, has realized this is her permanent home and she has been accepted by all the other creatures living here with George and me.

Tomorrow, Grace Casey, the smallest of the kittens leaves for her new home and I will be posting a picture of her with her new kitty dad after she leaves.

My hope is to add to this blog to share ideas on quilting, gardening and what ever else I learn. Learning is an on going process. It makes each day interesting and exciting. I hope I can inspire you to join me.
